Learn More About the Subaru Global Platform at Our Subaru Dealer in Rochester

Subaru is continuing its commitment to safety and reliability with its continued roll out of the Subaru Global Platform.

Subaru’s Global Platform (SGP) is the structure and foundation for all future models, and was first introduced in the 2017 Impreza model year. The design features include high strength steels and stiffer bodies that absorb 40 percent more impact energy than previous designs, and also improves ride handling and quality.

More important, however is that the new Global Platform provides a much quieter ride experience by absorbing the noise from the road and engine components. Subarus are generally quiet vehicles before the introduction of the SGP but continue to trend in the right direction with a quiet ride and commitment to safety.

All in all, if you’ve been waiting around for the perfect vehicle to get into, any of the new models with the Global Platform are an excellent choice. Currently the 2018 (and beyond) Crosstrek and Impreza are outfitted on the SGP, and the 2019 Ascent, Outback, Legacy and Forester are all adopting it for the first time.

WRX and BRZ fans will have to wait for a few years for a redesign that fits the GSP, but will continue to provide sports performance and incredible handling until that time comes.
