Learn What a Mom Has to Say about the All-New 2019 Subaru Ascent

Earlier this year, we asked Sarah, a mother of three, to take the 2019 Subaru Ascent out for a test drive. Frankly, it went better than we could have hoped, as she was positively delighted with many of the unexpected features offered in the model she took on the road. We invite you to watch the video below to see how things went.

As Sarah notes, the Ascent offers a tremendous amount of interior space. Capable of seating eight in its standard configuration, or seven if you choose captain's chairs for the second-row seating, the Ascent is blessed with 153.5 cubic feet of passenger volume, as well as ample cargo capacity that includes underfloor storage.

One other point Sarah makes that we want to draw to your attention has to do with the standard symmetrical all-wheel drive that's a Subaru exclusive feature. While other manufacturers do offer all-wheel drive, it doesn't work quite the same as the Subaru version. When you're driving our Minnesota roads during less-than-ideal conditions, you want to be confident in your vehicle's ability to go where you want it to.

You might be surprised to learn that a vehicle this size can be powered by a four-cylinder engine, but it's true. The turbocharged 2.4-liter direct-injected engine at the heart of the Subaru Ascent makes 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, while still earning an EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 27 mpg on the highway!
