To quote the official Subaru website, “Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.” So, what precisely does this entail? There are five specific parts of this commitment, all with a message of love: Subaru Loves Pets, Subaru Loves the Earth, Subaru Loves Learning, Subaru Loves to Help, and Subaru Loves to Care. Now, what do all these efforts look like in reality?

Subaru Loves Pets

First up, let’s talk about one of our personal favorites: all of the animals that Subaru has helped. Since becoming a partner of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in 2008, Subaru has donated over $28 million to it. With that money, Subaru Loves Pets has helped support the rescue, transport, adoption, and well-being of over 230,000 animals across the country. Subaru Loves the Earth

Subaru and its retailers are fully committed to protecting and preserving the planet for future generations. That’s precisely why they launched the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative back in 2018. Since then, Subaru and its retailers have partnered with TerraCycle®, and, collectively, everyone involved has collected over 7 million pieces of hard-to-recycle trash, such as snack bag wrappers, coffee cups, and used cabin air filters. With the assistance of TerraCycle, Subaru and its partners are turning these items into usable items like durable furniture. After all, one person’s trash is another’s treasure.

Subaru Loves Learning

Speaking of invaluable things, one of Subaru’s biggest passions is education, especially the accessibility of it. At Subaru Loves Learning, the goal is to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible. Since 2015, in collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Subaru has donated over 369,000 award-winning science books to countless communities. Additionally, through its partnerships with Staples and Adoptaclassroom.org, Subaru has supported teachers and students with donations of more than $400,000 in gift cards and school supplies.

Subaru Loves to Help

In 2020, during the COVID-19 crisis, Subaru and its retailers made a donation to Feeding America which would provide 50 million meals to people in need. These donated meals were distributed to 199 local food banks across the country. In Subaru’s vision for the future, the automaker sees a world without hunger; and, more importantly, it’s fully committed to doing its part in making that vision a reality.

Subaru Loves to Care

Of course, hunger isn’t the only suffering in the world today. There are millions of people currently struggling with various types of cancer, and Subaru is truly committed to helping them, too. Since 2016, Subaru and its retailers have partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to donate over 167,000 blankets and 21,500 arts & crafts kits, which have collectively reached nearly 150,000 patients in more than 780 hospitals nationwide. Everyone deserves a chance to live a good, healthy life, and Subaru is doing its best to help in any way it can.
