Experience The 2023 Legacy Updates

Subaru of Rochester, would like to introduce you to the 2023 Legacy.  It arrives with a new face, new standard features, and even more safety.  There is also a powerful engine upgrade for the Legacy Sport trim.

Enhanced Appearance

The first thing you’ll notice is that every 2023 Legacy has completely new front-end styling. This is led by a bolder grille and redesigned headlights with a horizontal bar connecting them together. The larger grille dips down into a redesigned front bumper which is flanked by aggressively styled side intakes.  It’s an even more attractive face for an already attractive sedan.

Greater Safety Features Across the Lineup

The EyeSight driver assist system is now standard on all trims. That means all 2023 Legacys are equipped with Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure & Sway Warning, and Automatic Emergency Steering. The core of the EyeSight system is a set of color cameras mounted near the center rearview mirror.  They monitor traffic movement for the adaptive cruise control system, and identify lane lines to warn and assist if you sway outside your lane. The system also helps detect other unexpected dangers on the road whereupon it can both cut the throttle and apply full braking in an emergency situation.

The EyeSight system on the flagship Touring XT grade is enhanced with an additional wide-angle camera that can provide earlier recognition of pedestrians and bicyclists when the Legacy approaches an intersection. Legacy’s available Blind-Spot Detection system is now accompanied by Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.  If you signal for a lane change when a vehicle is in your intended lane’s blind spot, the icon that appears in the outside mirror will now flash to better capture your attention. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is particularly useful when you wish to back out of a parking space next to a vehicle blocking your view.  The system issues both an audible and visual warning if a vehicle is approaching from either side. These systems are available on the Premium trim level, and standard on Limited, Sport, and Touring XT.

All 2023 Legacy trims with the 11.6-inch Multimedia interface display now have the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, saving you from having to reach for and plug-in your smartphone upon entry. The display interface has also been upgraded with better on-screen controls for audio, HVAC, and other vehicle features.

Meet the Legacy Sport

Living up to its name, the Legacy Sport now comes standard with the turbocharged 2.4-liter Boxer engine that was formerly exclusive to the Touring XT.  This results in a 42% increase in horsepower with a rating of 260 hp @ 5,600 rpm. Peak torque increases by 57% with 277 lb-ft @ 2,000 – 4,800 rpm. Accompanying the engine upgrade is a sport-tuned suspension and exclusive gray 18-inch alloy wheels.

You can also recognize the Legacy Sport by its unique red accent trim atop the horizontal bar across the front, as well as a subtle rear spoiler and outside mirrors in a matching magnetite gray metallic finish. Inside, you will find an exclusive interior with black and gray two-tone cloth trimmed with contrasting red stitching.

Building on the Premium trim’s generous feature-set, the Legacy Sport adds LED fog lights, a power moonroof, and an in-car navigation system on the large 11.6-inch center display. Also added are advanced safety features such as Reverse Automatic Braking and the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System.

In summary, the 2023 Legacy is better than ever with greater sophistication, an enhanced appearance, and more power for the Legacy Sport.
